Ancient rural churches, villages and country cemeteries

Culture

In the early afternoon, we meet in Verdeto , the starting point of our experience, accompanied by a local guide. Here we visit the historic parish church and its small cemetery, places filled with charm and memories that tell centuries of rural life and spiritual traditions in the valley.

From Verdeto, we set off on foot towards Montecanino, following an easy route of just a few kilometres through the rolling hills. Along the way, open views and peaceful surroundings invite us to slow down and experience the landscape at a gentler pace.

Once in Montecanino, we visit the cemetery and the ancient parish church, both valuable witnesses to local history and landmarks for generations of people who have lived here.

After the visit, we drive to the village of Pomaro, a charming little rural settlement with a character all its own. We stroll among stone houses, courtyards and narrow lanes, discovering the stories, traditions and atmosphere of an authentic village nestled in the quiet of the hills.

Its small cemetery is particularly fascinating, with artistic and traditional tombs that offer interesting details to discover and photograph.

An ideal afternoon for those who wish to discover the countryside in a slow and authentic way. A blend of walking, culture and photography, capturing the traces of a world almost lost in time
