Mister Wine: a day in the cellar

A day dedicated to discovering the most captivating landscapes of the Piacenza area, among castles, vineyards and authentic villages.

This tour is designed for those seeking a relaxed and genuine experience, combining wine tastings and local cuisine with the beauty of the hills around Agazzano, Piozzano and Pianello Val Tidone, between the Val Luretta and Val Tidone valleys.

During the day, we will discover some of the best-known wines of the Colli Piacentini, including:

Gutturnio DOC, the area's signature red wine;
Barbera, lively and wonderfully food-friendly;
Ortrugo DOC, a fresh and fragrant native white wine;
aromatic Malvasia, fragrant and elegant;
sparkling wines and special selections, depending on availability at the wineries.
Day itinerary

First stop: Agazzano

Arrival in the village of Agazzano, dominated by its striking castle.

The wine tour will begin with a visit to the castle winery and a first tasting, in a setting of remarkable historical and scenic beauty.

The tasting may include:

a fresh local white wine;
a traditional young red;
a more structured red;
a special selection, subject to availability.
Lunch in Agazzano

After the visit, lunch at a local agriturismo or restaurant, selected according to the chosen option.

Second stop: the Val Luretta hills

In the early afternoon, we will travel towards the beautiful Val Luretta, one of the most elegant wine-growing areas of the Colli Piacentini.

We will visit a second winery, where the tasting may include:

a sparkling wine or a structured white;
an elegant local red;
special selections from the winery, subject to availability.

Third stop: Piozzano and Pianello Val Tidone

We will continue towards the hills of Val Tidone, travelling through vineyards and open panoramic landscapes.

Our final stop will offer an authentic tasting experience deeply rooted in the local winemaking tradition.

The tasting may include:

Gutturnio DOC;
local Barbera;
a typical white wine from the area;
an after-dinner wine or special selection, subject to availability.

Approximate route: 50 km, with short and pleasant journeys along scenic roads.

Important information

The wines offered for tasting may vary according to the season, winery availability and the option selected. Every itinerary will, however, provide an authentic introduction to the quality and winemaking traditions of the Piacenza area.

A half-day wine tour can also be arranged, including visits to two wineries followed by dinner.

Alternatively, you can choose a single wine tasting combined with an approximately three-hour horse ride through the vineyards, arriving directly at the winery.
